Photo Essay
This is my photo essay. The theme is that its a bunch of stuff laying around my room, mostly old toys. The first picture (a new one, by the way) is of Rock-em-Sock-em Robots. The picture is taken from behind the blue robot at a low angle. The angle and lighting makes the red robot look like a villain. The second picture is a frog, highlighting the texture. The third is a raptor with a nice depth of field, the face is in focus, the rest of it is blurry. Fourth picture is my light, there's a nice contrast between left and right of the light. The next picture is a pair of yo-yos. I like the repetition of the circular shape in the yo-yos and in the shadow. I also like the reflection under the yo-yos. The next picture is a pencil sharpener. It has some nice texture, between the eraser shavings on the desk and in the sharpener. Also, it has an interesting shadow thats sort of triangular and elevated off the desk's shadow. The next picture is a frog, it's eyes and hands pop out against the black background. The next picture, Woody the Cowboy from Toy Story, has a big contrast between the dark background and the white printer. Also, the cabinet in the bottom right balances out the printer in the top left. The next picture is a Paul Revere bobble head wearing a bruins hat. He and his shadow are both really dark, so his hand is the only indicator of where his left side is when the picture is viewed as a thumbnail. Next, there's two different pictures of toy planes. One is hooked onto a string connecting it to the ceiling. The contrast and lines both make the hook stand out, emphasizing how the plane is a toy. The other plane has a light lighting it up from behind, making it lok like it could be leaving a trail of fire or something. Also, the nose of the plane almost syncs up with the top right edge of the desk. It would've been cooler if it actually did instead of almost did. Fitting it with the toy theme, I made my pictures into a cube.
